1. Motion Capture is a system to record your movement by optical/camera/pressure and convert it to a digital model. It can help me to make 3D animations easier. In movie industry Motion Capture is widely used in 3D animation record. The video below comes from Avatar.




2. Zoetrope is a lot of moving pictures around a pole. The pictures are the different steps of a whole movement. When pictures move around with the pole, you can see "catoon" movie shows on the pictures with the "gap".




3. Rotoscoping is a technique that shoot for main character and then put it into different backgrounds to built a movie.




4. Optical is one of suits.

advantages:
* potentiometers of optical is lighter than others.
* sensitive for video record.
* wireless

disadvantages:
* indoor use only.
* cannot record the motion which been masked or in shadow.
* sometimes disturb with other lights
