1.Explain in your own words, 5 differences between the organic system and the prosthetic motion capture suit
1.prosthetic motion capture suit requires to configure body part movement to achieve precise movement, which organic system is a lot more easier by standing in 3 postures, and programs will calculate your body data automatically
2. prosthetic motion capture needs actor to put on suit and adjust gyro, wire, cables and so on accessories, it is a long and complex process and suit is heavy and has limitation of movement. which in the OM capture system, actor only needs to stand in the studio, under the inf-red lights and 14 cameras, most work done in the programs of operation computer, actor can be more flexible and concentrate on performances.
3. prosthetic motion can make facial motion happens, but OM capture system does not includes this function which we could only do morphers in 3dmax to make it happens.
4. all the prosthetic must be not broken, otherwise will not capture the movement properly, and once it breaks, it will influences on the animation a lot. which OM capture does not exist this problem at all
5. prosthetic motion used the older programs and requires the Windows Me to operates, which OM capture system requires new programs that works synchronize with 3dmax or the other newest programs and operation computers, which is being popularize in game and movie industry.
2. Explain in your own words, 5 advantages and 5 disadvantages of the Organic Motion system
5 advantages:
flexible performances
precisely calculate the human body movements
less limitation on the programs and operation computers
fast data transformation
easier setup and smoother results
5 disadvantages:
not be able to capture the facial motion
expensive set up systems
techniques requires on the set up
actor can not wear anything too white
actor has to stand in the middle of the square room where all the 14 cameras cam catch him or her from different angles at the same time.
