MoCap Works! - Please Read
Hi All!, Apologies for the inconveniences. This message is posted on class message and blog - notify your classmates. The MoCap Room now is open for working!. It currently now works fine for recording. The system hard drive has crashed due to incorrect system switch on and off. We had to get a new main frame to get it going for us to continue to use it. 1. If you have booked it between Thursday and Friday, please come in and use it as per normal BUT, you must notify me and ask me to come and look at you use the system in the beginning PLUS show you how to do "MANUAL camera calibrations". 2. If you have not booked it, come and see me if you want to use it for recording. 3. PLEASE come and use the system, if we face any problems "again ( not likely) we can fix it early. For the whole subject, it is interesting. From the beginning we had a lot fun. Unfortunately, the system broke from week10 and that coursed problems to the class. But finally we finish the work and produce a pretty good animation. Learn motion capture is really fun. Just the system is not smart enough to capture face and finger, that part did waste time. If we can have a update system which can capture finger, face or even more details would help a lot!

Virtual Bodies class is interesting, during the whole subject we learn a lot of new things. There are some difficulties in this semester because the motion capture system is crashed, so when we did our assignment, the machine is not in a great condition.
It would be nice if the motion capture could record fingers, so that it would be easier and the animation looks even better.
Regarding the subject and teaching methods, we think we learned a lot from our teacher and the subject is interesting for us.
