1) Motion capture is basically capturing or recording the motion or movement, then translate it into a digital data. We use it in many ways like for military, medical and entertainment industries.
Nowadays, motion capture technology is not use only for entertaining or military. It is very helpful in medical treats. For example, we use it in MRI research and analysis. We can study about human body easier and clearer by using a motion capture to record the movement of any joints in our body, then translate it into a 3D model. So, it is very useful for medical studies or even medical treatments.
2) A zoetrope is a device that make an illusion of the action from still pictures or statues. The term zoetrope is from the Greek words ζωή - zoe, "life" and τρόπος - tropos, "turn". It may be taken to mean "wheel of life".
In the past, it start with a cylinder with the slits cut vertically on the sides. Beneath the slits on the inner surface of the cylinder is an image which has an individual frames from sequenced drawings or photographs. While the cylinder is spinning, if the user looks through the slits to the image on the opposite side. The user would be able to see the illusion of motion.
3) Rotoscoping is an animation technique in which animators make an animation from live-action film movement, frame by frame, to use in animated films. Normally, they would recorded a live-action film images first, then projected it onto a frosted glass panel and re-drawn by an animator. This projection equipment is called a rotoscope, although this device has been replaced by computers in recent years.
4) Acoustic motion capture uses an audio transmitters on the performers body that makes an audio wave when the performer makes a movement. This suit is involve the use of a triad of audio receivers. Receivers measure the time it takes for the sound to reach them and triangulate the data to indicate a point on a 3D plane. While the acoustic method does not encounter some of the problems of the optical method since a line of sight is not an issue, it does have other potential problems including the affected of any unexpected sound could lead to interfere the accuracy of the motion capturing.
Advantages
1 – Wires are not required to put on the performers.
Disadvantages
1 – Limited of space and place to capturing the motion.
2 – Could be interfered by any unexpected audio.
3 – The accuracy is not as high as other systems.
I really can't find the advantages of Acoustic MoCap suit... so, if anyone could find it, then plz help me out... >_<
