1.What is Motion Capture in your own words.
Motion Capture is a computer animation technique which can be easier to recording actions of human actors. It is an important tool for assisted making 3d animation, filmmaking and 3d or 2d games. We can use it to animate digital models in 3D computer animation.
2.Why do we use it? When do we use it over hand animating (cell animation)?
It is very easily to make the animation process. It can give animators or directors more time to create truly and perfect animation or films.
3.Who is Eadweard Muybridge, what does he have to do with motion capture?
Eadweard Muybridge was an English photographer who conducted motion-sequence still photographic experiments and is often called the Father of the motion picture.
4.Who is Etienne-Jules Marey what is the connection with Zoetrope & Rotoscoping?
Etienne-Jules Marey was a scientist who studies the functions of the body. He had the same problem as Muybridge, though - the glass plates used for taking photographs at this point could not be changed quickly, so fast movements could not be captured easily.
Rotoscoping is a techniqe to combine live action with drawn animation, in which artists trace over previously filmed footage.
5.What is another name for Zoetrope?
It may be taken to mean "wheel of life". zoogyroscope
6.Lord of the Rings is to use a lot of 3d effects of the Film. And it use motion capture to make 3d character expression. I am not very familiar with Lord of the Rings, but I know its 3D character very natural! The film good use of the motion capture to create action.
