1787 _ Week 8 Report
Prosthetic Motion Capture is one of organic motion capture types. It uses Potentiometers on the aforementioned plastic exoskeleton that an actor must “wear”, and then act out his or her movements. This is very accurate and transmits real-time data at a far greater range than any other technology. As the AIT's Prosthetic Motion Capture is very old edition system. So it limit a lot of action in our project, such as "can not jump", "can not squat", "Size is limited and the suit is too heavy", "walking back and turn around" and "not sensitive".
In my project, my character has a lot of action can't been used by Prosthetic Motion Capture. Sometimes we want to make a jump action in our character, but this can not make. Because the suit is too heavy and back connected cable cant be strongly shake. If we regardlessness make the jump action, the suit will be damaged and the action is not naturalness and real. So we decide cancel this action. Moreover another action cannot be used, it is squat. The reason is leg inductor can not contact with the cable. The action is like sit. The suit size is not suit for some people. For example the fat man can not wear these suit and taller man can not wear the leg suit. And the suit’s weight is too heavy so that it need a lot people to help act wear these suit. It is uncomfortable and actor will be very agonizing. In the other wise, walking back and turn around can not be made. For example, we have say good bye scene. We need actor walk around and turn back to wave audience. . Our motion capture suit just captures squatting position and stand up action, but its hip is not move, the feet are vacant and the wave action is ankylosis. Finally we need put these action imports in 3ds max. Some action need be fixed and make it again in biped. We need spend a lot of time on fix the action and make animation better. Basically, the motion capture make the animation very reality and very convenience.
Today, technology is catching is good and diverse, we can classify them into three broad categories:
Magnetic motion capture is done through a field of electro-Magenta is introduced in which sensors are coils of sensors electriques.Les son are represented on a placemark in 3 axes x, y, z.To determine their position on the capture field disturbance created by a son through an antenna, then we can know its orientation.
The optic motion capture is based on optical shooting several synchronized cameras, the synthesis of coordinates (x, y) of the same object from different angles, allows to deduce the coordinates (x, y, z). This method involves the consideration of complex problems such as optical parallax, distortion lens used, etc.. The signal thus undergoes many interpolations. However, a correct calibration of these parameters allows a high accuracy of data collected.
The organic motion capture developed very fast. Animation and Entertainment, Life Science and Public Venues are becoming increasingly important.
Organic Motion's motion capture technology creates new opportunities for all walks of life, from animation to medicine, sports to security, and even to enable applications for the general public. I believe organic motion capture will make No body suits, no wires, no markers.
